OBG, I used to keep a bunch around for emergencies, but unlike you, I found the shelf life to be quite limited. Within less than a year they take on a bit of an off-taste due to the oil in the noodles going rancid. It gets worse with time. It is still edible, and I didn't get sick from it, but I don't care for the taste.

At first I thought it was just me, but back in the Y2K days I read a forum where many people had the same experience as I did with "survival ramen". Now, I try to eat the stuff within 6 months and toss anything over a year old.
