Simon,
I wanted a multi-tool for Christmas and began researchng back in November. I looked at the Leatherman's first (of course) and Walmart had some Gerbers nearby. Then I launched an Internet investigation into the tools. Notes, saved html pages, price comparisons, etc. Gerber was out because they're made in China I believe. Also, I believed Leatherman might be on the cut list because I thought they too were being made foreign. I have an old Leatherman that has "USA" cast right onto the pliers pivot pin, but with everyone going overseas, I thought they had too.

Then one day I'm at Lowe's and I see the SOG S-62 for $59 (I think it was). It was cheaper than the Wave and certainly cheaper than any S-62 I found on the internet. And.....Made in USA! I mean, these people aren;t even ashamed to put it on their packaging! ""Made in USA"" Now that's GUTSY!! Deal sealed. I bought it, gave it to my wife, and asked "Would it be allright if you put that under the tree for me?"

I'll have to wait until Christmas to see if the praise in your review is accurate <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
