The idea of taking a kit containing a splint, large roll of gause etc for a neighborhood walk is, in my opinion, over the top.
Stick with a cellphone, walking stick and your normal pocket carry.
(I realize there are some paranoids who won't go to the corner store without a BOB and a couple of weapons, but...)
