No, I haven't seen the knife in or part of a kit. However, doug did show the bk12 along with a bk10 and a campagnion in a picture on this site quite a while ago. It was a drop point with black coating and in 01706 metal, but according to a knife forum it is also in s30v.
I got excited today when I was looking through doug's recommended kits on this site and the bk10 crewman in the 2 person survival kit has been replaced with the bk12 RSK fixed.
Now, looking at his track record,...... RSK Mk1 folder at the price it is, many people laud it and sing its praises both here and knife forums, some don't like it but very many do. Even the ones that grumble about it not being the knife they would choose still admit for the price, its a winner.
Next, the Ritter PSP....... its not the biggest or the best, but what it contains is highest quality kit at low price. Some of the kit is class leading, some is a compromise, but none of it is lacking and all of it you will thank your spiritual essence/leader/whatever for having it in your pocket. but look on google and again its very respected.
Now ETS is a (tm) , I cant make it do that neat little circle thing, people will be waiting to see what comes next and waiting for it to be reviewed. Even if it is good, people will snide and sneer 'oh, its only good, is it?' and then drag out their personal favourites or drag in a knife that costs twice as much to compare against it.
Doug knows this, which is why he has taken so long to release it. Its fine tuned to his wants, wishes or requirements of a blade and his perception of whats best for out there, beyond the screen......in that green and brown stuff with the rain and all that. God, even as far as the cutting profile concave, convex, concurrent, constipation and other con words...... I never get that deep into knives, maybe I should but I got married in october so I still have to worship and adore her for a few more years yet.
ANYWAYS,... he will have done his homework better than I ever could and so I will trust his products AND I WANT ONE NOW THAT ITS ON THE LIST, please.
No, sue I won't be walking down the streets of manchester with one lashed to my leg, however, WE go up to lochinver NW scotland quite often to visit family and its fun to take my kit and play. It will be nice to take it up with me so it can see some sunshine cos in england we must hide the bad knives away. but people do waltz around with bloody big kitchen knives in hand while yelling at their kids to come in for tea. Go figure, eh
