Part of my EDC is a Leatherman Micra on an improvised lanyard made from 20-lb fly line backing and a small carabiner. It's surprisingly useful. Given that I almost always have my Vic Rucksack and/or a Gerber multitool on my person, I wouldn't bother with a blade-only necker.
