I have considered another plate for the laptop compartment of a day pack. Nowadays I don't have a briefcase but use a Mystery Ranch Gallagator for the stuff I EDC for work. Since I can't CCW on the premises at least having a lightweight plate would give me a few options.

I'm in a small town (about 50,000) and crime isn't much of an issue here but even one home invasion is a lot if it's your home.
