well the absorbent is made of cotonwol, don't know what the "silk toush" outerlayer and stuff is made from. But the core is always cotonwol, wenn they used synthetic fibers, there was a increase of cases of toxic shock syndrom. Synthetics are more absorbent and worked to well in absorbing the fluids, causing extra bacteria grow.
