The blade profile has thinner stock on the forward end of the blade and a different edge profile -- it should slice better than the scandi edge on the rear half of the blade. With the Kansbol you get both a scandi edge which may work better for bushcraft and a more traditional edge profile for slicing veggies and meat. $.02
