Were you by chance using a GPS to help with navigation?

Like I'd said, I think with the right GPS (electronic compass with very good in-board maps) and a paper map to match the GPS in-board maps that navigation could be much much easier. Maybe the concept of a matching GPS map and paper map is more dreamware than reality though.

... and I'll admit that I'm somewhat surprised that GPS displays are still relatively small - which I think is why so many people are talking about using smartphones instead. Of course bigger displays may put them at a price point that is too high for most buyers.
