I like the electronic disposable lighters too, for their improved water resistance over the standard flint and steel types. However, according to a very interesting account athttp://website.lineone.net/~gr.gilbertson/travel/grgtrek1.htm (or, more accurately, the list of equipment the author took with him, which is at http://website.lineone.net/~gr.gilbertson/travel/grgtrek5.htm), it seems the electronic ones don't work well at high altitudes, while the normal ones do just fine. Guess the best thing to do, since most of us believe in redundant fire-starting methods, is to pack one of the smaller "mini" versions of each, one for water resistance and the other for altitude proofness and use as a sparker when you run out of fuel. :p<br><br>Stay safe,<br>J.T.
