This was memorably the most depressing book I ever read. I'm not sure I can recommend it in this context.


LOL... You're right, it's not exactly light reading. I liked the movie, too - probably more than the book itself, because its sparse prose style didn't quite click with me. The movie though... has to be one of my favorites, at least in its particular genre.
