it is difficult to predict what will happen in the ME and Syria. I think that the American president is scheduled to address the people on the subject this coming Tue night (Sep 10). If the US does strike Syria, I am not sure that reprisals will be directed at the UK. After all, the UK Parliament voted not to get involved. It seems plausible that terrorist reprisals could be directed at US or French interests.

The ME has been slowly filling up with powerful weapons for a long time. I am actually surprised that peace has prevailed there for as long as it has - considering all the possible triggers that could lead to a new war. Whether Syria will be that trigger is anyone's guess.

I agree that your Scottish highland cottage sounds very desirable. Hope you have some vegetables and a few sheep :-)
