I had a funny and proud moment yesterday. My 7 year old son and I were looking for something to watch on tv and we came across "The Rugrats Go Wild." The description said it was a cartoon movie about a family that gets stranded on a deserted island. It sounded a little Swiss Family Robinsonish so we turned it on.

We joined sometime after the family's boat had capsized, and they were in a liferaft headed for land. Not long after they got to the island and watched their raft drift away, my son said, "Mom, let's watch something else. This show is for babies. They're all working on the signal fire, they didn't tie up their raft, they haven't thought about drinking water and they're not even making a shelter."

Apparently I need some new material. Any suggestions? What was your favorite or what is your kid's favorite survival viewing? We've done Les, Bear, Ray, and Cody and Dave... I'd like to find some teaching fiction for him.

Thanks!
