Another option is to set some new targets in terms of physical capacity (hike, bike or run this fast/long/high/hard). Slightly out of reach from your current fitness, but not too hard or it becomes totally unrealistic. Those 10 pounds will take care of themselves.


I think that's going to work for me...the new job is a huge time investment, that's been an adjustment, and I've lost the use of my basement (and treadmill) while I deal with a prolonged painting the floor section by section process. I'd like to get out on the bike more, I agree that the challenge approach will work. Ultimately, I'd like to ride my bike around the block. This is far harder than it sounds - huge hills around here!
