A while back a young and unstable fellow showed up here asking for advice on how to survive in the wilds while walking across the country and oh by the way, he was starting out in one week and didn't give a damn about any poaching laws. I and several others tried to convince him of the error of his ways and he didn't take it very kindly. For quite a while afterwards I was recieving threatening e-mails from this clown. Luckily he wasn't smart enough to figure out my real name or he probably could have raised real hell with me, my family and my job.

Martin, you seem to be in a pretty secure spot in your life and with your particular skills and contacts you probably don't worry about someone e-mailing your employer with lies. Many of us (me included) do not have that sort of security in our life. The last thing anyone wants to do is give someone with a chip on their shoulder a lever into their life.
