On the 16th of July 2009, at 1400 hrs Local; The first winner of the "Demolition Lottery" pushed down the plunger that "blew up" the East Spans of the Jonesville, La Swing Bridge across the Black River.

I believe it is today that the second drawing winner gets to push down the plunger on the West spans of the old swing bridge.

Jonesville, La is a small town about 30 miles west of Natchez, Ms.
Lottery Tickets were $5 each. All Lottery Proceeds were distributed amongst local charities. What a bargain??!! I wish I would have found out about this early enough to have bought tickets myself.

The GOOD NEWS (listen up Blast!!!): The new Greenville, Ms Mississippi River Bridge is almost completed. After it is opened, the old bridge is to be destroyed (can you say, "Boom-Boom"?)

I will keep an ear open and if they sale Lottery Tickets for that bridge, or any other structure that has to be blown up, I will post that info here!!!! I promise!
