Yes Virginia, Doug Ritter really does exist! After spending a couple of days at PWYP where Doug and his "personal campfire chef" Ethan Becker (the same Becker as in the Joy of Cooking and other cook books, and Becker Knives) I can tell you in real life Doug is indeed taller than his pictures suggest, grin and is a very funny guy, as well as a pleasure to be around!

For those of you who did not attend PWYP in the North Carolina Mountains, you missed one heck of a great time, incredible outdoor topics and a great talk by Doug on PLB's.

Ethan did a fine job of campfire cooking and feeding Doug and a few others with some good breakfasts and a nice campfire beef stew. I had the pleasure of a bowl of stew and can honestly say
the several spoonfuls that of stew than did not end up in my lap after the bowl tipped were quite good and very hot.

I strongly suggest that ETS members try to attend at least one of the several gatherings posted about on here for a great time and knowledge sharing, as well as meeting some very nice people!
