YAY!! I went to a presentation on Mt Kilimanjaro last thursday. We had a 'virtual Slide show', gear recomendations, questions time etc.

My mom saw the presentation, and said that I now have her permission to do the climb! That was the biggest obstical so far, getting her consent!

I will either do the climb next June/July, December/January (shool holidays) or anytime after school.

the cost is R9800 (@ US $ 1150 at the current exchange rate). this doesn't include equipment (most of which I already have) or a tip for the porters (@ US $ 60-70). I'll look around and investigate other travel agencies, scout assoiations etc for a beter price though. it is a 7 day trip, as the only flight in/out of Tanzania is on a saturday.

I am really exited about this, as I have wante to do this for a long time! I'll tell you all about it when I do it. any comments?
