Can't help you with the glasses, but I have a tip that helps you see if your aim is accurate at long range.

When you practice with a target that is close enough to see the reflected light hitting nearby and steer it to the target, you're not really using the aiming system and don't know if you could really, say, hit an aircraft without that feedback.

Instead, aim at a very distant retro-reflective target such as a road sign, bike reflector, tail light, etc. You'll only see the light if you actually hit the target.
