Me and the misses have had great luck with freecycle. When we got out first apartment together we had my bedroom set, her kitchen stuff and a tv. We managed to get a complete livingroom set and computer desk for nothing but a little hard work. Susan is right about most of these people wanting it gone now if not yesterday so be ready to jump.
