I don't see why. Isn't a tanto point just a cross between a chisel and knive tip? Looks a strong tip to me.

Just because it's similar doesn't mean it has the stabbing ease of a tanto pointed knife.
Not to mention that blade looks dinky and it would probably not last for a stabbing weapon, etc.
Like I said, each knife has a purpose that one isn't self defense
that doesn't mean it's a bad knife for carving.
