Just about anywhere you go, you can find something to use as a suitable spear tip, with a little work. As with arrows, you can make a decent spear point with certain rocks, broken glass, bones, scrap metal, hard plastics, even just using a decent hardwood. Why use a good knife, unless it is surplus?
