One of the funniest stories that I have from my days as a Scoutmaster involved this. We told a new scout to "soap the pans and griddle" to make it easier for clean-up. The kid did a great job of soaping both inside and outside! We figured it out when the first round of pancakes seemed to be too bubbly.

Important lesson learned: Anyone can issue instructions. It takes far more work to be a teacher.
