I have no personal experience with the models you are inquiring about. However, I do own an old school Gerber Multi tool(1998 maybe?, the first model to come with the locking blades) and the newer suspension. I have always liked my Old school Gerber, but my only experience with their new ones is the suspension. The suspension doesn't hold a candle to my older one: it feels cheap, the blade isn't as nice, handles aren't as sturdy, doesn't have flip out pliers, etc. Then again it's only worth half the price.

The only bad things I've heard about Gerber lately have been about the recoil, and what I like to call their "budget line" of knives (suspension, clutch, para frame, etc) To tell the truth, I haven't seen to many comparisons or reviews about many of their newer more expensive knives.
