Yep, very impressive design, but looks more like a fancy/decorative home storage solution to me. The precise dispensing feature is probably crucial during bumpy ride on a personal airplane. But it's definitely not the smallest battery case for EDC, and it's probably heavy. Hopefully its plastic could substitute for a good tinder?

I'm using battery boxes similar to those of DealExtreme http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3558 for several years (I don't remember where I've got 6 of them, but it was some local photo store, I believe). The molded hinges are still functional. One of the advantages to me in this model is that it holds securely 4 x AA, or 4 x AAA (in perpendicular direction). Batuca looks very similar, but an AAA will rattle in it.

these only cost 1.00ea and they also have cr123's for 1.00ea and a carrying case that holds 12 123's for 12.00. They also have really cheap shipping.

It's important not to mix batteries with different voltage left. Also nice to have for checking rechargeable batteries health. And I'm just love analog stuff

Okay, made a pic. Please excuse the poor quality; did it with my cellphone. I don't remember where I got these bags but they are very thick, more so than a ZipLoc freezer bag. The zip closes well though when packed with 4 DL123s it is snug.

Neat, but that's digital battery tester (Ok, sort of). The idea is to have some meaningful reading from a continuous scale. Otherwise you have only 3 answers: good, Ok, bad. Also it's for 1.5V only.
