A good friend of ours is going to climb Grand Teton Mountain to benefit the at-risk teen participants of Big City Mountaineers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Please consider making a donation for this noble cause.

Here is a message from her:

"Those who have no idea what I'm talking about let me remind you:
I have been trying to raise money for a guided climb I'm planning to do in the middle of August in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. All the proceeds will go to Big City Mountaineers who aim to provide similar opportunities for urban kids in need of positive adult mentoring with challenging, safe outdoor experiences designed to build self-esteem and positively impact their beliefs about themselves and others.

You can learn more about the organization on their website: http://www.summitforsomeone.org/ and my donation page: https://ssl.charityweb.net/bcm/summit07/svetlanakhaykina.htm. This noble cause makes me look at the climb as at a personal achievement through which I will be positively affecting the lives of urban kids while doing something I really enjoy -- climbing one of the most beautiful mountains in the States. And so can you be part of this effort with a small donation to my fundraiser!
While I am not typically the one to solicit people, I would really appreciate your help in finishing my fundraising effort. I have to raise money by the end of June, which doesn't leave much time and thus forces me to ask for your help yet again. At the moment I am at 63% of my goal and have $1,300 more to raise to meet my goal. Even though it seems like alot it can easily be achieved with just a little sum from you! Keep in mind also that your donations are tax deductible. You will receive a letter from the Big City Mountaineers to that effect. Please visit my donation page at https://ssl.charityweb.net/bcm/summit07/svetlanakhaykina.htm and click on "donate online" link at the top. Please e-mail me if you would like to donate via check or other methods.

It has been an interesting experience for me to try and raise money thus far. The fundraiser party we have put together a while ago was a success thanks to those of you who made it there! Hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me seeing you all and seeing your interest in the climb! And I hope this final stretch before the deadline will be a success as well.

Thank you all!
Happy trails!
