The other day my grandoughter spilled some baby oil on the counter top, seeing as I hade a cotton ball handy I soped it up with that, Then I got to thinking if PJ and cotten balls work good why not this. Out to the workbench I go, and much to my amazement the cotten ball lit faster than one with PJ. Now I have BO cotten balls that I can use on my dry skin and also skin rashes or squize some out to use as a lub for a squeaky something.

al,

This is food for thought. You better have a tight sealing
container, because baby oil, mineral oil, most oils, will
find a way to leak out of a container.

Generally, I would expect that lighter, thinner, hydrocarbons
will ignite easier; but they will also escape a container easier.
Example: lighter fluid will evaporate out of a Zippo-type lighter.

Maybe you could seal the oil/cotton in a piece of plastic straw,
just like some guys do with petroleum-jelly/cotton. They seal the
straw end with heat, so be careful not to burn yourself if you do
decide to experiment.

I only used part of the cotton ball, just like I do when I use PJ so I realy can't tell. I will have to try that and find out.

Wow, another neat use for baby oil. I'm not going into some of the other uses here...

That's wierd. I would have thought that KY wouldn't work, since it's a water-based lubricant.

Methinks this refers to the "fire down below". Then again as with all fire it still comes down to preparation and technique.

Lip balm made with coconut oil (any drugstore shelf, beside the suntan lotion, comes in a tube like chapstick) rubbed liberally on a cotton ball makes great tinder, lights easily & burns for at least 1 minute (didn't time it). It's a no-mess way to carry it, and when the lip balm runs out, you can repack the tube with petroleum jelly.
