A little pricey for my taste but interesting nevertheless.

Poor Blast is going to be disappointed when he realizes that you didn’t simply misspell “Thermite Water Boilers”.

15" tall, about 3.4-4" wide, and it ONLY weighs three pounds. Yesh! It would be great if you had a vehicle or horse to carry it, but packing it might not be the most efficient. Also, if you are going to refill it, how long does it have to cool before getting dunked again?

I agree. And if I didn't have a wood stove, I'd take a look at them. I have a wood stove, and I probably will be taking a look at them later on, for bugging in. But the way they were phrasing it to me made it sound like they were being used by packers.

I have not used the Thermette versions of this chimney boiler, but do have two Kelly Kettles. They are really excellent devices, particularily for an emergency kit. I carry mine as part of my car and emergency communications kit. There is always plenty of dry enough waste wood to boil water. One of the 10L sizes would be a great addition to my communications kit. Coffee and tea can really buck up an excercise or a disaster response. I have an article on my 1-pint Kelly over at the outdoors-magazine. I added the larger Kelly last year but have not updated the article. Highly recommended devices. http://outdoors-magazine.com/s_article.php?id_article=126

Love my Kelly, too. On the weight issue - no stove, no fuel, no fuel bottle, no boiling pot, no lid -- well . . . let's see . . . not so bad after all! Then again I come from a long line of Irish fishermen and we're just stubborn!
