Ray Mear showed his viewers when he was in the German forests how he used a plant (i forgot the name!!) as a mildy aniticeptic soap by mixing its juices with water. <br><br>Now I like to know does any one know plants which grow in GB which you can use as a soap? Urls, descriptions of the plant are all welcome.<br>Thanx<br>Reinhardt

Saponin is the active ingredient that makes water frothy when leaves are crushed and wrung out in it. Do a websearch for plants with high saponin content.<br><br>Or visit Kew and find a Banksia tree. The leaves will wash people but not clothes.
