I was wondering if anybody here has tried the energizer energi to go charger? Supposedly it's suppost to re-charge a dead battery within 30 seconds, enough to make a call at least.

I was thinking this would be a great item is a backpack or small EDC bag, or in a car kit but was wondering if anybody has experience with item first before purchasing.

I wonder how fast it drains the 2xAA completely.

I haven't used that one yet. I do carry the Charge 2 Go, which uses a single AA battery. It will give my Kyocera phone a 1/4 charge in about 5 minutes. It's smaller than the Engergizer version, and I keep the adapter cord inside of it, storing extra AA batteries elsewhere.

I pick one up a few weeks ago, I am forever forgeting to put my "leash" on the charger, and I must say it works quite well.
the only complaint I have is that I got mine at Home Depo, for 20 bucks and a week later I seen it in the grocery store for $15

For the space, why not just buy one or two extra batteries for your phone? Then, instead of one or two emergency calls, you have a fully charged phone again...

On my phone the battery runs $60 and is the entire back of the phone (Moto V710). What I did was replace the standard battery with the optional oversize that doubles the capacity. I plug it in each night to keep it topped off and have never had a power problem. These batteries seem to be good for about three years (most folks "upgrade" before then) so I may upgrade my battery to a new one. I was thinking about going to a Moto Razr, but the battery capacity is an issue. Mine has most of the features, it's just fatter.

See also the sidewinder, which requires no batteries:

and the cellboost

The key to any of these things is that they have an adapter which fits the power-in socket on your cell phone. If not, then they're no good to you.
