I remember (though not verbatum) a 'notice' that had been posted at my college......

If you can constantly show other your happiness despite your aches and pains and without complaining...

If you can truly say that you are ALWAYS happy and eager to see your family....

If you can truly say that you harbor no prejuctice toward anyone....

If you can withstand your family taking out their frustrations on you (through no fault of yours) from their bad day.....

If you can show unconditional love.....unconditionally.

If you can eat the same food day after day, week after week, year after year....and be thankful for it....

If you say that.....then you are HALF as good as your dog!



I have the exact one at home, so unfortunately I don't remember it all but you get the idea.

I also remember something that said, "Lord, let me be half the person my dog thinks I am."

They truly are a gift. I am sorry for your loss.

My best friend Tigress is in intensive care since yesterday, and may not recover. I'm sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry to hear that. Someone once said that the price of a dog's love is that they are only with us for 1/5 of our lifespan.

Seems like a fair trade to me. I hope we make it worth it for them.
