If you want to go hardball, you could leave a message saying that if you do not hear back from them in X number of days you'll file a complaint with The Better Business Bureau Online.

They may not care, but then again you never know. Before I order online I check to see if the company is registered with the BBB (usually they have a BBB graphic link) and then I check to see if any complaints have been registered against a company at BBB Online..

Sometimes you get nothing there, but other times you can find information on the company you're checking out.

Anyway, if they're interested in keeping a good name, then the threat of a report might prompt them to contact you in a more timely fashion.

Several years ago I ordered an Emerson Commander from this place on the East Coast. Got the item, then had a near death experience resulting in emergency surgery and 9 day in the hospital. Btw, don't EVER spend Christmas in the hospital if you can help it!

Anyhow, I got home, and just after the new year, this guy calls me up and says that the debit card number I gave him had expired, and could I give him a valid one. It seems my card expired at the end of the year. So I did some checking, and it looked like the money had already been taken out of the account, but it was unclear who made the withdrawl.

So this guy keeps calling and one time says, "I talked to a friend of mine in law enforcement and he said if you don't pay, then it won't be good". That was it for me. I emailed him and stated that any further correspondence from him should be written and that he was not to call my house, or I would take legal action. I then proceeded to file a complaint with the BBB, the attourny general in his state, asked advice of the attourny general in my state and filed a report with the FTC.

Strangely enough, he stopped calling.

It turned out that it was not his company that took the money out. Being in the hospital had put a severe financial drain on me (and my pregnant wife) so I agreed to pay when my tax refund check came, which was not long after I filed reports.

Needless to say, I didn't do business there again.

Forgot to mention that he waited almost a month to debit my account... I figured that if he wasn't that worried about when he got paid the first time, why should he be concerned then?

May have to look up those agency's email addresses again, eh?

Still have not heard anything from them. Even after promising to file complaints with a few different agencies. I consider the order cancelled.

I ordered the same gear from another place this past Monday. Had to pay a little more, but TLBTOJ is scheduled to deliver it on Friday.

Paying a bit more for gear is better than waiting and hoping for weeks that it will come

Bummer.

I agree with the policy of paying a little more though. I've gone and bought stuff at REI so I could get my grubby paws on it immediately rather than save some money. LOL

Ah, yes, immediate gratification is a terrible disease among us gear junkies.
