What I really want is a Glo-ring, but we don't seem to get them here in the US. Anyways, with regard to the subject line, anyone have both? I understand the spec sheet differences, Special Battery vs. Common AA etc. Any impressions from anyone who has one, worth the cost, color preferences etc? Thanks,

I have and have used both in Search and Rescue operations and out in the middle of an Interstate highway during a rescue in the middle of the night.

#1 Krill lights are very dim as compared to Cyalume or the Glo-Toob; I don't like them or recommend them for what I need. They are also way over priced.

Glo-Toob's are brighter, But I don't like the switch for on/off operations or changing flash patterns.

Of the two I use Glo-Toob more Due to Size, Brightness, Flash Patterns and Colors available.

I have the Krill AA and AAA, Glow-Toob and Glow-ring. Depending upon what you plan on using them for, it is hard to say which is better. As Ted stated the Glow-Toob is the brightest and can be used for an area light in a tent, the FX model has the additional feature of flashing modes. If you are looking for a distance marker, then either the AA/AAA Krill or Glow-Toob will work. If you want just a marker for personal items – knife, flashlight, etc. then the Glow-ring would be best. Glow-rings are available from overseas, to date I have had no problem with delivery issues.

What do you want to use them for?
We dont get Krill in Australia, and GloToobs are hard to come by, but I have 3 GloToobs and some Glowrings.
I have a Blue, White and Amber GloToob FX and I am very happy with them.
I have Blue Green and Pink GlowRings, and the Green is the best by far.
If you are on eBay, I can recomend sellers called "raven-tech" in the UK and "reshef-21" in Singapore. reshef-21 also sells through candlepower forums under a different name, and he offers different sized Tritium vials there as well as the Glowrings so you dont need to use eBay. He is very aproachable and good to deal with.
If you search this forum for Tritium, you will find a post by Groo about Tritium Safety Markers which he found in the US. They are a bit bigger than the GlowRings. He can tell you more about them if you send him a PM.

GloToob is in the process of releasing a rubber "clickie" style switch for the GloToob which should make it much easier to use. Read about it on this thread over at CPF.

Also, they are releasing a version that uses a 123A lithium battery instead of the small battery currently used. Sounds like about an 8X increase in runtime.
