Finally got around to reading it....sorry for the delay...I'm in south Florida preparing for this storm and I work for EMS so when I'm not preparing at work...I'm preparing at home. As it looks...we will be THE spot where it will land. I'll let everyone know how it goes.... anyway....
The article in the American Rifleman was a very basic article on being prepared. It is stuff that all the regulars here (lurkers included) already know about. They did say that a "commercial" kit isn't always the best and you would be better to put together your own kit. It also gave some ideas....they suggested that although knowing how to build a lean to is good....maybe having a tube tent and some cord would be easier and better for most people....Other things included preparing by taking a 1st aid course and having and extra set of ie. glasses and the like.
It was ok but nothing you need to hunt down....there were no little gems hidden in it.
