I'd just like to know if there is anything out there that could help me find out what I would need for a nuclear surivival?

The news is going around about the U.S.A. might be useing nuclear weapons. If that is so the U.S. will also be a target for such an attack and we all need to know what to do about this. I thank you all for your time and help

I am not sure that this is the forum for this subject, but I would be happy to try to answer your questions in this regard (privately if need be). While I am not an expert at nuclear war (fortunately) I am the Radiation Safety Officer at a prominant university, a certified health physicist (that's radiation safety engineering essentially), and have a masters degree in health physics, so I do know a bit about radiation, which I gather is your primary concern.

If you have specific concerns, I will try to address them, but your broad question could take a couple books to answer completely.

Regards,

Greg

Please take up Greg's kind offer. We are focused on an entirely different level. Rumors are an unfortunate aspect of our freedom. Is a nuclear exchange possible? Yes, but Is it likely though? I posted some time ago about testing a new piece of gear. My mindset was on it's performance and use situations and not my surroundings. I nearly walked into a mother skunk. When you've learned about nuclear readiness drop by again. We will teach you about skunks ;-)

I recently ran across a site that contained some info on the subject of nuclear, biological, and chemical survival. Go to www.bwolf.com, and follow the links under "Intermediate Preparedness". The site is hosted by Robin Hanus, and he credits his sources of info whenever possible.

Chris,

On this more mundane aspect of survival,

My neighborhood is teeming with skunks. Nighttime walks & errands in the yard guarantee regular confrontations.

We have found that singing, humming, or whistling warns the frequently hidden or unnoticed skunk of our approach, so that they flee rather than spray. That has been invaluable to us absent-minded types.

John
