I've been lurking for some time on and off and I really like this site a lot. There's so much info in this site but I haven't been able to find what all these abbrieviations mean. SAK, EDC, etc. If there's a place on here that I can find the meanings can someone point it out to me? Thanks.

There have been a few threads in the past, but here are some common ones around here.

SAK = Swiss Army Knife - Those glorius little pocket knives that are a great bang for the buck
EDC = Every Day Carry - All the stuff you carry every day.
PSK = Personal SurvivalKit - Most commonly a small kit that can fit into an Altoids tin, but can be used to describe any survival kit that you would carry. Generally meant to last from 1-3 days.
BOB = Bug-Out Bag - Usually a back-pack sized kit, and is meant to keep you going for an extended period of time.

I hope that helps.

Shouldn't these abreviations be part of a sticky, Frequently Asked Questions post?

I remember clicking the FAQ link that can be found near the top of the page when I first came here... The thing is that it's related to the bulletin board software used by this website, and not the survival topics we like to talk about so much. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
