I'm not into the pouches that attach to a belt, since I don't wear one and don't like to much, but I'm not sure if what I want even exists. I know belt pouches and fanny packs are more secure, but I'm looking for options that are more comfortable for me.

Anyone know where I can find a pouch that clips to the waistline of pants like a cell phone? Anyone have any suggestions for something similar or special that works for them?

Check out the Amphipod Micropack line:

I saw these at REI last weekend. They're not huge (they're mostly designed for runners), but they attach to the waistband with a metal clip.

You can try New Sun. They have a number of small pouches.

They look like IWB pouches ... pretty cool idea.

I found a DataPod from Eagle Creek that is just what you are looking for. I too don't always wear a belt and wanted something that would just clip on my belt. Check it out if you get a chance. I don't have a link just yet.
