I would really need to see one in person. It seems like a neat idea. I try to keep the wallet as minimalist as possible especially after I hurt my back and realized I needed to either move my wallet out of my back pocket or get two identically thick wallets. My problem with the JImis wallet is that I can't get that minimal. Every time I turn around somebody wants me to carry another card. I have pared down to these cards

Drivers license
Bank Card
Credit card
library card
insurance card
dental insurance card
blood card (mainly for myself in case blood type is needed)
video card

Plus I carry two of the keychain sized "shopping" cards next to each other. I have too much stuff on my keys as it is. One of the shopping cards I could do without. The other is for Kroger and they are hard to avoid here, being a Cincinnati company, and only give sale prices to people that carry their mark of the beast, errr shopping card. There are also two gift cards in there right now too. At some point there will be a CCW ID also. If the current administration has anything to say about it we will have national ID cards also.

I also have a state issued pocket birth certificate that I carry. It doesn't get used too often but has been extremely handy a few times.

The Jimis wallet doesn't even come close to carrying all of that. I think they would be very handy for a "night out on the town." I don't have too many of those anymore though. I do think it is a neat design though.

I always envied/pitied those guys that carry nothing but a car key, house key, drivers license, and a few bucks. I thought it must be nice to travel that light, but then they were usually the first to ask for some of my silly gear. Always kept me from wearing sweat pants out in public, so maybe it is a good thing.

I was thinking more of a handy case to store items for a mini-PSK. The description said it would hold seven cigarettes, so it would likely be able to hold some basic items. I would think it could be attached to any number of things (lanyard, belt, backpack, etc.), in addition to your keys. I am not sure to what degree the wallet is water/weather resistant, which might limit what you would want to put in the wallet. Just another gadget to consider.

Should consider two wallets of identical thickness. Its not that hard to acheive really. First you need two wallets that are the same. Fill one with all your normal stuff as mentioned above. Then put PSK items in the other. This should make the PSK wallet smaller than the regular wallet (unless you carry a lot more stuff than I do). Then add bandaids or tinderquick or cotton or something similarly moldable and useful to bring the PSK wallet up to the size of the regular wallet. Anyone that reads this board often knows from a couple other threads that I am about to be (starting in late august) in a new enviroment for eight hours per day where all of my PSK items will need to be extremely well concealled. The dual wallet thing is one of the ideas I am considering. I even recently purchased a pair of identical inexpensive leather zipper wallets at Walmart that I am experimenting with. One of them I left alone for normal usage and the other I have gutted completely to make extra room for PSK stuff (light, fire, knife/tool, water purification, etc).

Not a bad idea for a micro PSK container. Its translucent, the right size and has a lanyard hole. If anyone gets on I would be interested in info on how it works out.

Pete,
I didn't realize that was why you posted it here. That is a good idea. Particularly for an urban essentials kind of kit. I guess I was being a little too literal.

brian,
I am so used to having nothing in my back pockets now, I don't think I will go back. My back and my rear thank me daily. I do have some nylon hiking pants that are made to be worn with a back pack and the pockets are cut such that the "front" pockets and "back" pockets are right next to each other, with the side seam being the divider. They are the only types fo pants I have where I put stuff in the back. They have cargo pockets also.

I guess it may be sacrilege to say it here, but I don't carry my PSK around in the city unless it is cold outside. I carry it in my daypack which goes with me most places. I always have at least one knife on me, tweezers, a light, P-38, and a whistle. In the summer, in the city, a compass is rather pointless as is a fire starter. I throw most of the bandaids I carry around away because they start falling apart and I can always use my bandana for a cut.

In the winter I usually carry my PSK in a coat or shirt pocket. If I am going out of the city, or to a strange city I am more likely to carry extra stuff.

I would be very interested to know how durable it is. It might make a nice sturdy cellphone case, it looks like my Razr would fit inside it.
