Anyone have any experience with the Australian Mk III Survival Kit designed by Bob Cooper? They are a variation on the SAS pocket kit. In the premiere issue of Tactical Knives magazine there was an article about Cooper and the kits. Dave Alloway of DA SOS in Presidio, TX distributes them in the US for $45 +S&H.<br><br>

My only objection is the plastic "soapdish" container.<br>They appear to be far more complete than the BCB kit and<br>several others I could name. My understanding is that the double edge blade that is standard in the kit, violates new antiknife legislation in Australia. The new design is called the mintan, I believe, and has sort of a tanto type point. This gives two distinct edges without being "double-edged". I ran across some pics on an Australian knife website where they wanted $22 Australian apeice for the knives. That's about $12 US, I think.<br><br>
