I know of 2 types.....1 is a smaller tee pee, and the other is half sphere. Both can have fires in the center. Probabaly the mini tee pee style can shed wind better, and can definitly be staked down from the crows nest if it is set like a low tee pee can. I think the tee pee type would be the best type for north country. Set it so the door is to the least expected wind direction to get smoke out better, and use a liner like a tee pee has to creat better draft... if the camp is to be long enough in one place make a pipe line from out side to fire pit with cans to feed air to the fire. Smoke flaps vary....... I lived in a tee pee for 3 years 1,095 days or so... I have stayed in both types of wiggwams, and use a hunting lodge often which is something like a double bell wedge....
