If it comes to a permanent bugout scenario, I would like to pack items that are both sentimental and have a practical application. I have a few hand tools that are both sentimental and practical.

I have microfiber towels that have a special meaning to me (long story), but how practical would they be in a permanent bugout? I think we can all agree that rags, in general, are useful in a long-term bugout. However, microfiber towels are designed for a specific purpose and may not be ideal for general-purpose settings.

What are some practical applications for microfiber towels in a permanent bugout?

In a tough situation, you may have to throw sentiments overboard. Lots of things can clean up messes. Depending upon the nature of the mess, some are better than others. Improvise.

I know. That's why I'm going through sentimental items that have a possible practical application, such as my hand tools.

The case for my hand tools is clear. I can use them to do simple auto repair jobs.
