Does anyone here have experience with non-stick heavey duty aluminum foil? Is there such a thing? Do any of you include it in a kit? Can you think of any pros and cons to this product in emergency situations? I have a feeling the non-stick coating would come off after a while or after repeated folding of the foil. Any thoughts?

Huh - there IS such a thing as non-stick aluminum foil! But I think the regular size and thickness roll is what is available; the HD non-stick is pre-perforated 12" x 18". Doesn't seem to be conventional rolls of HD foil with the non-stick coating. I haven't seen or tried it, but it sounds interesting.

There has been a moderate amount of buzz about including aluminum foil in our kits. I see the need for it, but my questions is does anyone have experience boiling water in aluminum foil that's been creased and carried for a month or more? Does it hold up? My suspecion would be that the heat would melt/weaken the foil, especially at the creases.

What's the word on this? Should I go pick up some HD foil and experiment?

It should be noted that I carry a naglene bottle with a space saver metal cup, but that's both bulky and not always on me.

You can boil water in a condom, ziplock, paper cup etc. The material will not burn until the it has boiled dry. I haven't tryed using a condom or a ziplock, although I have heated the condom with a flame, just not to boiling point. I am not sure if it would be sensible to tie up the top of the condom as the pressure might break it.
