Thats what the local news had on the lucky man.

It's the year 2022...People are still the same
They'll do anything to get what they need.
And they need Soylent Green.

Maybe he should buy a Powerball ticket. But my guess is that he's used up that kind of luck. Gods, demons and saints aside, autistic or not he seemed to have some pretty canny survival instincts.

I hope he fully recovers from his ordeal. He's provided a lot "gist for the mill" that we'll be digesting for some time!

Of course he had plenty of water - the Escalante is a permanent stream, although I believe it's original name was the "Dirty Devil" (courtesy of John Wesley Powell). Survival is considerably easier in the desert if you have adequate water.....

Interesting :

I didn't really understand why he thought only autistic people will stay near water !!! I can't think of anyone in a desert who would wander away from water.

But the more ineteresting thing I noticed about William after he was rescued, is that he wanted "to talk" as much as he wanted to eat and drink. I wonder whether a survival situation like this may have a positive impact on an autistic person.

Glad he made it out alive, despite the odds.

Sad about the dog though.
