What do should I look for in a roll of duct tape?

I know that I want it to be highly visible, maybe even fluorescent. That way it can be used as markers.

I also know that I want it to be marked in one inch increments, for easy measuring.

I like Nashua brand, but to be honest I never met a duct tape I didn't like.

You're not supposed to use duct tape for electrical work as the cotton threads in it can conduct electricity. Other than that I guess the sky's the limit.

Backpacker magazine did an evaluation of different brands of duct tape. Type in "backpacker" and "duct tape" in google. I couldn't get the link to work.
