Just need to tap some of your brain cells. I'm upgrading my PSK.

1. I have lifeboat matches, but was wondering where I could get a striker other than the one on the top of the bottle. Will the striker off regular kitchen matches work?

2. Does anyone know if the small glass vials with teflon lids are still available from Exploration Products? I emailed them and it bounced (a spam filter? Strange).

Thanks to all,

Kev

I could never get an answer from Exploration Products either, and gave up trying to wade through their web site with its mish-mash of products in no particular order. I got some small glass vials from here - C.L. Morgan Co. - and put a piece of Teflon plumber's tape over the top before screwing the lid down. It has worked fine so far, no leaks or corrosion of other kit items, and the 1/2-inch amber bottle holds 18 Potable Aqua tablets if packed judiciously.

I've ordered some packaging vials from Exploration Products just within the past couple of weeks (Part # 550020), so unless they've JUST run out, they're available.

Thanks for all your kind responses. I'll give Exploration Products another try, although I had considered buying a standard glass vial (commonly available for perfumes on the internet) and using a thin sheet of teflon to make a gasket (about 11 bucks for a sheet of 1/16" sheet stock, 12X12). I just didn't want to buy enough to make a bunch of vials when I only needed a couple.

So again, thanks for your help. I figured if anyone would know, it would be this group.

I ordered some of those Teflon-lined bottles over the summer (along with other stuff) but I gave up on locating the goodies on their web site. Used their toll free number and that worked a lot better. (800) 448-7312. I can't speak for everyone else, but my order was UPS'd to me and everything went well.

I got mine from a Metal Detector Store. They use them for holding gold samples and stuff. I just went through and checked al of mine and they as still good, so I am assuming they are the same thing. They have had pills in them for about 6 months.
