#1 - Check the back seat before entering your car.

A few minutes ago the police scanner in Nampa, Idaho called for an APB on Oregon plate 486-EKH. A mail carrier in a tall van, reported that he saw a man hiding in the back seat under some clothes in the car of a woman who left the local tire shop.

Zombieland, Rule #31: "Check the back seat".

This is easy in my Jeep as the top and doors are rarely on and there's only a single racing seat in the back. You'd either have to be sitting in the racing seat or hiding in one of the ammo cans.

Doh! I believe I heard later that the hiding man turned out to be nothing more than this:

The trunk monkey.

It's hard for most people to get into a locked car without visible signs of entry. Lock the car when you leave it. The day of the flower child is over.
