I'd highly recommend a utensil roll up for organizing the major kitchen utensils. I have a cotton duck one from Duluth Trading, but I like this $20 nylon version better:

I just bought the utensils from the local Target. If you're using cans, consider getting a good can opener like the Swing-a-way.

Being the good Scouts that we are, my family members each have their own personal mess kit like these:

They are tough, keep warm food warm, clean up easily, and everything air dries in the mess bag. In my bag I store it in a 2-gallon ziplok bag - to help keep it all cleaner.

I use a couple of Action Packers. Very easy to use. I also have a Kitchen Box that a friend built for me. Basic concept of the Scout box, but no legs. It's great but extremely heavy when loaded down. The modular approach allows one person to move the entire kitchen. DW can move all modulars by herself, but no way she loads the kitchen box by herself.

I use those rolls like that a lot
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004TQC7/ref=ox_ya_os_product for example has my bike tools in it.
I'm looking for one of the action packer type of boxes that can have dividers so differnt rolls of things can go in each section.

Those I have not seen in any of the Lowes Depots. We have some like that at work though, I will get the brand name for you.

The brand we have is 'Buckhorn'. The dividers are pretty flimsy though.

This appears to be their website. http://www.buckhorninc.com/index.asp
