I like a cup that is big enough to double as a cooking pot

Talking more of a survival situation than a routine camping or hiking scenario. It takes a lot of snow to make a little water. A sierra cup full of snow would melt down to an ounce of water. A canteen cup is bigger and heavier, but you can melt more snow, boil more water, make more tea, dig a hole with it, carry more water up from the lake, cook a rabbit in it....It's a matter of weight vs. utility.

I use this SS cup for all my hot beverage needs. It goes on every hike or backpacking trip that I partake in. The cup fits perfectly on the MSR pocket rocket stove and also does not mind a hot campfire.

For my needs, at 18 oz capacity, the cup strikes the perfect balance between size and over functionality which also includes heating up some food when needed.

Photo was taken a few weeks ago while out on a day hike during tea break time.

A few *weeks* ago?! I haven't seen a vista like that since October. (It's official, I'm tired of winter.)

There's hope, our snow just melted, except for a few piles here and there. Bare ground is headed your way brother.
