It bears noting there are two versions of said knife (LMF II). One is made from all US parts and assembled in the US. It is WWAAYY more expensive than the other knife. It is made from US parts, but assembled off shore.
This has to do with the actual issue item knives, and a law requiring manufacture in the US. The Gerber website had something about it, but the site is too darn difficult for me to hunt it down tonight.
