Anyone ever mix any of this stuff with their paint and use it on the outside of their home?

We need to repaint and I've been trying to find some good answers but most of it seems like a sales pitch or a "testimonial" from a "real" end-user.

Yeah, I`ve tried online research most seem like sales pitches even on forums. I think not many people use it.

Radiant heat barriers are very effective. They are designed to have an air gap between them and the actual insulation on the structure. Generally they are used on the under side of roof decking. This basically makes the air within the attic a large insulator between the roof decking and the ceiling insulation.

So am I. Generally the stuff you mix with paint is to be rolled or sprayed to the underside of a roof.

DuPont now makes radiant barrier TyVek for the sides of homes, so there must be something to it.

I've never heard of a radiant barrier paint.

I work as a delivery driver for a building products wholesaler specializing in plywood and similar products.

We sell several different brands of radiant barrier covered OSB. It's known by several different names but it's basically a piece of OSB with a layer of thin mylar film applied to one side.

Builders are using on the roof and on the walls of new homes and when they reroof existing homes.

From everything I've heard it can greatly reduce your energy usage, reflected energy of the sun and all that good stuff.

I'll do some hands on research when I go to work Monday and ask around to see if anyone has heard of any specific brands that are any good.

I have some siding I need to replace maybe I can get some of this stuff behind it.

If the sheathing behind the siding is still good, use this Tyvek product.

I have used it on several customers homes and it is great.
